George Mues was named Principal Engineer, Research & Development for Missouri-based Ameren Services Company in 2009 (later retitled Technology Transfer Manager). His responsibilities at Ameren include identifying company research needs, identifying organizations capable of carrying out that research, managing research relationships, and administration of research contracts. Primary research efforts are currently focused on integration of distributed energy resources and efficient electrification. A licensed professional engineer in the State of Missouri, Mr. Mues earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering in 1979 and a master’s degree in engineering management in 1986 – both from Missouri University of Science & Technology.
Mr. Mues has been Chairman of the ASME Research Committee on Power Plant and Environmental Chemistry and a member of the Missouri S&T Chemical and Biological Engineering Advisory Council, the SIUE Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Board, the Technical Committee of the Washington University Consortium for Clean Coal Utilization, and the Program Committee for the Illinois Clean Coal Institute (ICCI).
