Doug Scott

Doug Scott, Chairman of Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC), will speak on energy storage in Illinois and the Midwest. The Illinois State Senate confirmed Scott as Chairman in February. An accomplished attorney with extensive public service experience, Scott previously served as Vice-President for Energy Systems at the Great Plains Institute, focusing on climate strategy, regulatory response, and evolving utility business models.

Vincent Sprenkle

Vincent Sprenkle, Strategic Advisor for Energy Storage at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Director of the Grid Storage Launchpad, will share critical insights into the future of long-duration storage and grid innovation. Sprenkle is a member of BCI’s Flow Battery Industry Group (FBIG) and co-chair of the organizing committee for FBNA, alongside Stryten Energy’s Scott Childers.

Maria Skyllas-Kazacos

Maria Skyllas-Kazacos is a Professor in the School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering. Her research and professional interests include Vanadium Redox-cell batteries for remote area and load levelling applications. Commercial prototype design and development. Field testing of vanadium battery in Solar House applications and electric golf cart. Redox fuel cells and batteries for electric vehicles.

Standard Room Rate: $302 per night + taxes

How to Secure a Room Reservation: To book your hotel reservation, reserve your room online.

The BCI room block rate is subject to availability up until Monday, October 6, 2025, or until the hotel sells out (whichever comes first). After this date, reservations will be accepted by the hotel based on availability and at the hotel’s prevailing rate.

Hotel Cancellation Policy: A deposit equal to one night room and tax will be processed at the time of booking. Deposit will be refundable if notice of cancellation is given to the hotel at least 72 hours prior to arrival.
